Miami is a Mosaic
“Miami is a Mosaic” is a series of events designed to help locals and visitors alike learn more about Miami’s rich history while celebrating its vibrant culture. The title is straightforward and true, using alliteration to highlight the concept. Like a mosaic, Miami is composed of diverse elements that come together to form a dynamic and colorful whole, making the city greater than the sum of its parts.
The visual identity for this event series was inspired by the many tile mosaics found throughout Miami. The logo, featuring two M’s, symbolizes the building blocks and pieces of a mosaic.
A poster series was created to advertise the events, incorporating typography inspired by vintage elements, from hand-lettered signs to chunky serifs seen in old Miami pamphlets.
